DevOps Engineer Intern incentius

Job Description:

We’re looking for smart individuals to perform a wide range of DevOps activities including cloud, system, and network administration for our organization. These individuals will require excellent analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills. They will support our organization’s LAN, and WiFi networks, configure and maintain our firewall, interface with ISPs, maintain our VPN systems, and manage our active directory infrastructure. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and provisioning workstations for our employees and troubleshooting performance and software issues with them. They will also be required to play a part in IT and security compliance requirements within our organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management and administration of a wide range of AWS services.
• Support the creation and documentation of AWS architecture and help provision infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises servers.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to application deployment, performance, and security.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of applications.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.
• Strong Linux Administration skills
• Determine what the organization needs in a network and computer system before it is set up
• Administer and maintain VPNs, DNS and Active Directory, VLANs, ACLs on network switches and routers    
• Install all network hardware and software and make needed upgrades and repairs
• Maintain network and computer system security and ensure that all systems are operating correctly
• Add users to a network and assign and update security permissions on the network
• Ensure that employees’ workstations are working efficiently and stay connected to the central computer network
• Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues
• Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
• Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems, and maintain company policies

Skills

Required

1. Good working knowledge of Linux and Linux concepts
2. Good working knowledge of networks, gateways, DNS, DHCP, WAN, etc
3. Ability and experience in installation of Operating Systems (Windows, MacOSX, Linux (Ubuntu))
4. Ability to troubleshoot workstation issues on Linux, windows, and Mac OS
5. Debug and troubleshoot wifi connectivity issues
6. Basic understanding of Active Directory
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
9. Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

1. Good working knowledge of Linux and Linux concepts
2. Basic understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
3. Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript).
4. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
5. Excellent knowledge of advanced networking, Subnets, VPNs, Routing, Firewall configuration, etc.

Bonus

1. Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
2. Expert networking and monitoring knowledge
3. Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and federated authentication
4. DevOps knowledge including tools like Jenkins, CI/CD, etc.
